Conserve Georgia’s Water

As the current drought illustrates, it is imperative that Georgians make the conservation of water part of our daily lives. Properly managing our water use not only at home but in all areas of our lives can help us all save time and money. It also helps ensure that we have a sufficient supply of safe drinking water now and in the future.

Without water conservation, Georgia will not be able to meet its water demands of the future.

Water users in Georgia and throughout the United States have been successful with water conservation initiatives. Reducing water use can save water resources for future generations. Recycling can also reduce water consumption. Many manufacturing processes require large amounts of water and by recycling products, we help reduce the water used by manufactories. Littering also affects the condition and quality of our water. Much of the litter that is discarded on our land eventually finds its way to our creeks, streams and rivers.

Water conservation is more critical than ever for the long-term protection of our state’s natural resources and economy. Experts agree that water conservation is one of the most economical and environmentally protective means of meeting water supply challenges.
